The Remote Smart Parking Assist, or RSPA, helps drivers park their vehicles in tight locations, such as a full parking garage. The technology allows you to move the vehicle forward and backward from outside of the vehicle, utilizing the smart key to control it.

RSPA uses technology to move your Hyundai forward and backward, but you must be within 13 feet of the vehicle while operating it:

Step-by-Step Guide to Hyundai Remote Smart Parking Assist From Inside

1. Pull your vehicle in front of the space you wish to park in
2. Place the vehicle in park
3. Press the RSPA button on the center console
4. Instructions on the LCD display will remind you to use your proximity key, or smart key to move the vehicle forward and backward
5. Exit your Hyundai, stand in a safe position, and ensure that you are within at least 13 feet of your vehicle
6. Press and hold the forward or backward button on your smart key – the vehicle will travel up to 23 feet per button hold (release the button and press it again for another increment of 23 feet)
7. Remote moving forward and backward will stop if it detects an object in the way, and can use the steering wheel to avoid detected obstacles
8. To cancel, release the forward or backward button and press the remote start button
9. The vehicle will go into park – go inside the vehicle, engage the parking break and switch off
10. You can also enter the vehicle with the smart key, depress the brake, or close all the doors to allow the ignition to stay on

1. Press lock on your smart key
2. Press remote start button – the vehicles will flash and the engine will start
3. Press and hold the forward or backward button to have your vehicle exit the space
4. RSPA functions only under very specific circumstances, which can be found in your user’s manual.
